From time to time, I love a hot bath; especially if I had an overly stressed out day or my muscles are sore. Previously, I would buy bath salts scented with lavender and spend anywhere from $5-$20 depending on where I purchased it from. Spending that much money on bath products can really add up over time. Am I right?
Once I went through my holistic health training and discovered all the nasty chemicals that they put into these products, I had to find another alternative (and one that didn’t drain my bank account).
Did you know that our skin is our largest organ? It can actually absorb more toxins than by the food you eat! Turns out that our saliva actually breaks down any pesticides we eat in our food and our body’s natural process takes over to flush them out of our systems. Read more here, but the bottom line is that I needed to find an alternative.
Here is the alternative healthy recipe you can feel good about soaking in after a long day.
Tip: Have a girls night, pitch in to buy the ingredients and make it a fun evening with some healthy snacks and wine! Check out how to make your own bath or shower gel and hand sanitizer too!
