Kale Chips Recipe

kale chips

Do you love potato chips? I do too! It’s honestly one of my weaknesses.

I have tried to find an alternative for when I am craving the salt and crunch, but most recipes fall short. Until, I found these kale chip recipe!

If you are not a fan of kale, but you want to try and ease into this latest trend then you need something tasty and simple. Kale chips are the best way to go. I am sure you have heard that kale is a veggie superstar because it has so many amazing health benefits:

  • Classified as a cruciferous vegetable with cancer fighting properties!
  • Vitamins A, C and K
  • Minerals such as copper, potassium, iron, manganese and phosphorus.
  • 3 grams of protein per cup.
  • Great source of iron, which is easily absorbed into the body.

Alright, so you get that it is healthy, but how does it TASTE. Let’s be real – that’s almost more important, right?

Oh, I need to tell you that have I don’t like cooked greens? That’s almost sacrilegious in the south, but I love these and they are a go-to recipe for me.

You will need the following:

  • 1 large bunch of curly-leafed kale
  • ½ to 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • Pink Himalayan salt
  • The “secret” ingredient, which you will find here

All you do is preheat your oven to 300F, prep your kale (clean, rinse, dry), and cut the kale into pieces tossing with olive oil.

Tip #1: Tear the kale, instead of cutting, to save time and put the pieces into a Ziploc bag. Pour in the olive oil and shake and massage into the kale until fully coated.

Next, line the kale in single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until nice and crispy. It’s good to turn them half way through.

Tip #2: Line your baking sheet with foil so that cleanup is easy peasy!

Once, the kale chips are nice and crispy then season with Pink Himalayan salt and this “secret” ingredient found here.

If you find the “secret” ingredient  (4th item on the ingredient list from the above link) come back to this post and reply with what it is in the comments section!

This is one of MANY favorite recipes from The Hungry Hottie Cookbook by the fabulous Cynthia Pasquella.

If you LOVE this recipe as much as I do then you need to go download the first 53 pages of The Hungry Hottie Cookbook for FREE. Seriously, lots of great content and recipes for free! Did I mention for FREE?

If you love what she gives you for free then you should purchase the cookbook.

Um, Alison, who really wants another cookbook when there are so many recipes for free online?

Great point.

I asked myself the same question, but this cookbook gives helpful tips, recipes and much more to encourage you through your journey. I am not kidding – I use this cookbook more than any other recipes online or cookbooks on my bookshelf. I would be embarrassed for anyone to see it since it has so many stains and post its!

At the very least download the first 53 pages for Free! What do you have to lose? Download it here.
